Inter Milan chairman Massimo Moratti has hinted at a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The European champions have held a long-term interest in the Germany international and reports emanating from Italy claim Inter are ready to make a move for the 26-year-old.
Schweinsteiger's future at Bayern has been the subject of speculation for the last few months with the player's current deal due to expire in 2012 and no contract agreed as yet.
Moratti is a huge admirer of Schweinsteiger and has admitted he has enquired about his availability in the past.
"He is a magnificent player, he has exceptional power and technique," Moratti told Corriere dello Sport.
"Already a time ago I have asked Bayern Munich about his availability.
"Recently at the World Cup I noticed he has even become an even better player."
