Forward returns on loan from Genoa

Italy Under-21 international Robert Acquafresca has rejoined Cagliari on a season-long loan deal from Genoa. The 22-year-old has struggled to make an impact having moved to Stadio Luigi Ferraris from Inter Milan as part of the deal that took Diego Milito and Thiago Motta to the Italian champions. Acquafresca has spent two previous seasons on loan with Cagliari, the first as part of a co-ownership deal with the Nerazzurri. The forward was shipped out by Genoa to Atalanta only to return to his parent club halfway through last season, but was unable to make his mark. Acquafresca is now eager to put the past campaign behind him and enjoy further success with Cagliari. He said: "The truth is I don't want to go through another year like last season, I know that I can be regenerated here."
