Striker back in training but unsure whether he will face Chile

David Suazo has confirmed that he is struggling to be fit for Honduras' World Cup opener against Chile on Wednesday. The experienced striker is currently nursing a muscular complaint, which has prevented him from taking a full part in training recently. He was able to join in with his team-mates on Saturday, but remains some way short of the level required to compete on the biggest stage. The 30-year-old frontman, who is contracted to Serie A giants Inter Milan, now faces a race against time to shake off the effects of the knock before Honduras take to the field in midweek. "My recovery is coming along well," said Suazo. "Today (Saturday) I trained with my team-mates and each day I feel better. "We are hoping that from now to Wednesday I will be able to respond positively as regards my being available to play and to how much of a role I can play. "My heart tells me that I would like to play in all the matches, to stretch myself to the limit, but that depends on other factors. "There are two days to go to decide and everything will depend on these two days."
