Gokhan Inler's agent has revealed that Palermo are interested in landing the Udinese midfielder.
Udinese endured a disappointing 2009/10 campaign, finishing a lowly 15th in Serie A, and Inler has been linked with a move away from the club.
Palermo have emerged as one of the frontrunners in the chase for his signature and initial talks have already been held between their sporting director Walter Sabatini and the player's representative.
Inler's agent Dino Lamberti says his client would be tempted to join Palermo, who only just missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification.
However, Palermo will respect Inler's desire to focus on the World Cup and will not step up their pursuit of the Switzerland international until later in the summer.
"It is true. Palermo are interested in Inler," Lamberti told Palermo24.net. "I had spoken about it some time ago with Sabatini.
"We like Palermo as a possible destination, but we will speak about it after the World Cup.
"Sabatini wishes to do things correctly, and will wait after the tournament. He is an excellent sporting director."
