David Pizarro has insisted that Roma's main objective is qualifying for the UEFA Champions League rather than trying to finish top of the table.
The Giallorossi endured a frustrating start to the season but have climbed to second in Serie A thanks to a 14-match unbeaten run.
They have won 11 of those matches and six in a row to move to within seven points of defending champions Inter Milan.
Roma are now being talked about as genuine title contenders but midfielder Pizarro just wants to secure a top-four berth and then possibly aim a bit higher.
Speaking to Il Romanista, Pizarro said: "No, no, we are not the anti-Inter. I'd just be happy if we managed to qualify for next season's Champions League.
"That's our main objective and then we'll see what happens."
