Dane returns to his roots after calling time on his Italian adventure

Martin Jorgensen has been released by Fiorentina and has penned a one-year deal with AGF Aarhus.

The veteran Danish midfielder is desperate to represent his country at this summer's World Cup finals and knows he must be playing regularly to get the nod.

That has forced the 34-year-old to call time on a six-year stint with Fiorentina.

He saw little first-team action in Florence this season and was widely tipped to be on the move during the January transfer window.

Jorgensen has now opted to return to his roots, having started his career at Aarhus, and is looking forward to playing regularly once more.
