Old Lady miss out on Parma striker

Parma have confirmed that striker David Lanzafame is staying and not returning to Juventus. The 22-year-old joined the Stadio Ennio Tardini outfit from the Old Lady, but they wanted to re-sign him this month. Juve boss Ciro Ferrara was believed to want the striker back, but Parma have managed to retain his services. The club's chief officer Pietro Leonardi is pleased Lanzafame is staying.

Continuity

"This deal gives continuity to our plan," Leonardi explained. "We don't want to be a club that changes plans after six months. "We're also happy that the player understands our message. Our desire was well known and the player is committed to us." Meanwhile, Juventus have suffered another defensive blow after losing Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres to injury. Shortly after losing Dane Christian Poulsen last week they will now be without Caceres for three weeks with a muscle problem.
