Adrian Mutu has been linked with a move to Qatar but his agent insists a deal will not happen.
Speculation has suggested the striker could leave Fiorentina during the transfer window.
Qatari club Al Sadd are currently managed by Romanian Cosmin Olaroiu and he has reportedly identified Mutu as a target.
The 30-year-old's representative Victor Becali can see the appeal of such a move but has assured Fiorentina supporters that he will not be switching clubs.
"Mutu is 31 years old and this would be a very, very good financial offer," Becali told Pro TV.
He added on Radio Blu: "Adrian is a Fiorentina player and he won't leave.
"Florence is his home and he won't be going anywhere, at least for this year.
"Al Sadd's manager made several comments about him. Obviously he is well respected over there but I have started no negotiations.
"So I can deny any rumours regarding a move to Qatar."
Fiorentina have also stressed that Mutu remains an integral member of the squad.
Sport director Pantaleo Corvino stated: "We want to keep our most important players, and this applies to Mutu and all the others."
