Preziosi rules out moves for Quaresma and Mancini

Genoa have revealed they are no longer pursuing Inter Milan duo Mancini and Ricardo Quaresma. The two wingers have struggled to establish themselves as regular starters under Jose Mourinho and have been tipped to leave Inter in the January transfer window. Genoa were interested in bringing them in but president Enrico Preziosi no longer feels they are needed. Raffaele Palladino and Bosko Jankovic have both recently returned from injury and Preziosi believes they can offer more to the side. Preziosi nevertheless insists he is prepared to spend money in certain areas if Genoa can maintain their fine form until the turn of the year. "Quaresma and Mancini will not be joining us," Preziosi told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Our needs have changed after recovering Palladino and Jankovic. "We are covered in that attacking role and, if anything, we are better off than Inter are. "This does not mean we will not be strengthening the side. I have already spoken with (coach Gian Piero) Gasperini. "If we are still fighting on several fronts in January, I will invest more money."
