Catania midfielder concentrating on club form

Marco Biagianti has stressed that he is focused solely on playing his best for Catania. The midfielder has been tipped to become a regular in the Italy squad following some impressive performances at club level during the early part of the season. But, having battled back from injury problems, Biagianti maintains that thoughts of playing for the Azzurri could not be further from his mind. "The national team? I don't think about it," the 25-year-old told sportmediaset.it. "I'm coming from a difficult period and only now I'm recovering my physical condition."

Good timing

Biagianti believes the international break has come at the perfect time for Catania as they aim to improve on a poor start to the season. Gianluca Atzori's men lost their opening three Serie A games and remain in the drop zone after a run of four consecutive draws. "The break arrived at the right moment, it will allow us to prepare ourselves in the best possible way for the game against Cagliari, which we want to win at all costs," said Biagianti. "After four consecutive draws, we want the first win against a direct opponent for survival. "If we play like we did against Roma, we have good possibilities to obtain the three points."
