Czech ace could make retirement U-turn accoring to agent

Pavel Nedved's agent Mino Raiola insists there is a chance the midfielder may go back on his decision to retire from the game. The 37-year-old announced that Juventus' final day 2-0 win over Lazio on Sunday would be his last after a career spanning 18 years. But his agent has stated that he will try to persuade the Czech ace to change his mind with a number of top clubs from around Europe chasing his signature. Raiola added that Nedved still had the fitness levels to continue playing on the biggest stage and explained that he will be sitting down with the player to discuss his future in the near future. "I hope he will not end his career," he told Deniksport.cz. "I will do all I can to have him continue. He should not be ending yet. He is in the same shape as he was when he became Europe's player of the year."

Turnaround

Nedved is no stranger to changing his mind when it comes to deciding when to call it a day. The former Czech Republic captain quit the national team after Euro 2004 only to return for the World Cup two years later while he has been debating whether to retire altogether for the past three seasons. Despite rumours of a pay-as-you-play deal for Juventus, Raiola reveals that a move to former club Lazio or a host of other clubs could be on the cards. "Why not?" He added. "Eight years ago he played for Lazio, from where he left for Juventus. "We have not been specific. There have been lots of clubs interested, from the United Arab Emirates, the US, Spain, England but also from Italy. We'll see." However Raiola did state that if the former Sparta Prague youngster prolonged his career it would be likely that it would be with Juve. "It would probably be very difficult for him to go to a different club because he is a very proud person," he pointed out.
Loyal
"That is why he has played for just four teams during his career. Maybe he will be allured by the UEFA Champions League or his 100th league goal. I will take a look into his mind and see what happens." Raiola stated that his reasoning was not money motivated but because he had the player's best interests at heart. "If he was injured or was out of shape or played miserable, I would be the first person who would tell him to end his career," he insisted. "But the opposite is the case. Over the last few months he has been Juventus' best player. If a player is the best one in the second best team in Italy, then it should not be a problem for him to carry on."
