Milito and Motta poised for San Siro switch

Genoa have confirmed Diego Milito and Thiago Motta are both set to join Inter Milan this summer. The two players have been key members of a Genoa team that has challenged for a top-four finish in Serie A this season. Inter coach Jose Mourinho recently admitted the club were closing in on Argentine ace Milito and now a deal has been agreed to see both him and Motta make the switch to the San Siro. As part of the deal Inter have allowed Robert Acquafresca, who is currently on loan at Cagliari, to move to Genoa. "We have been left without two important players," said Genoa president Enrico Preziosi.

Painful

"I met Inter president (Massimo) Moratti for breakfast and we reached an agreement. "It has been a painful choice but we have to thank the two players for what they have given the team this year. "As part of the deal, we will get a financial sum and some players. "I can only say the name of (Robert) Acquafresca, who we have followed for the past few months." Preziosi also revealed Genoa have agreed a deal to sign Atalanta ace Sergio Floccari, claiming they have beaten Napoli to the striker's signature. "We've already signed Floccari for 11 million euros, beating Napoli," added Preziosi.
