Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko will miss the UEFA Champions League tie with Chelsea due to a fractured metatarsal.
Sissoko broke the fifth metatarsal in his left foot during Juventus' 1-0 win at city rivals Torino in Serie A on Saturday night.
The Malian had only appeared in the match as a late substitute for Christian Poulsen, but now faces several weeks on the sidelines.
The former Liverpool man will sit out the visit of Chelsea on Tuesday night as Juventus look to overturn a 1-0 deficit in the second leg of their last 16 clash.
Juve coach Claudio Ranieri will also be pressed into an urgent rethink of his team, with Sissoko having been expected to be a key figure in his plans.
