Defender set to stay at Roma following Tigers offer

Christian Panucci's agent has claimed the Roma defender has turned down the chance to move to Hull City. Sky Sports News revealed on Sunday that the Tigers had started talks in an attempt to sign the veteran Italian before the close of the transfer window. Panucci had been looking to leave Roma following a recent bust-up with coach Luciano Spalletti when he was sent to the stands after being named as a substitute against Napoli. However, the 35-year-old's agent Oscar Damiani expects the versatile stopper to stay at Roma due to the lack of time to finalise a transfer. Damiani also suggested that the offer from the Tigers was not good enough to tempt Panucci into a move to the KC Stadium. "I really think Christian will remain at Roma and respect his contract," Damiani told LaRoma24.it. "We have been unable to resolve the situation, which isn't entirely surprising as we had very few days at our disposal. "We have not reached any agreement. The proposals we received were not considered valid for the player."
