Werder Bremen have dismissed speculation linking Diego with a switch to Juventus.
The Brazilian playmaker is contracted to Bremen until 2011 but reports have suggested that his relationship with the club has become strained.
Juventus are looking to strengthen their squad this month and Claudio Ranieri is understood to have identified Diego as a long-term replacement for 36-year-old Pavel Nedved.
"Diego is a player that I like," Ranieri said over the weekend.
It has been reported that Juve have set up an appointment with Bremen for next week to discuss a possible transfer.
But Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs says there have been no talks, declaring: "It is not so.
"There are no negotiations and there are no negotiations planned. We will simply have to deal with rumours like that in the coming months, anyway we are not prepared to transfer Diego."
