Fiorentina have been informed that Adrian Mutu's elbow injury is not as bad as first feared.
The Romania international sustained the knock during a weekend fixture against Lecce.
Initial reports suggested the striker could be sidelined for a considerable period of time - news which came as a major blow to La Viola.
However, with Mutu having now undergone scans, medical tests have helped to ease those worries.
It has been confirmed that the 30-year-old has not suffered a fracture, only a small tissue tear.
No timescale has been put on his recovery as yet, but he looks certain to be out of action for up to a month.
