Brazilian Ronaldo has turned down a proposal to sign for Siena, saying he will only play when fit.

Brazilian star turns down proposal from Serie A outfit as he is not fit

Brazilian striker Ronaldo has knocked back a proposal to sign for Italian side Siena, saying he is not interested in committing to a team until he is fit. The 31-year-old ruptured ligaments in his left knee while playing for AC Milan in February and was subsequently released at the end of the campaign. He has been recovering in his native Brazil with Flamengo, the club he supported as a boy and has targeted a return to action by January. Siena president Giovanni Lombardi Stronati has given him the chance to train with a view to playing for the Serie A side, proposing a contract for a sum of €100,000 for each goal. But the Brazilian insists he will not commit to any team until he is fully fit.

Thankful

He told SporTV: "I am thankful for their interest but for the moment I don't want to take any commitment with any team. "I will do so only when I feel that I am totally fit and for the moment it's impossible to say when that will happen. "For the moment I will know more or less how I am when I will play in the tribute match that Zinedine Zidane has organised for 17th November."
