AC Milan forward Marco Borriello is set to miss Italy's World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Montenegro.
The Azzurri travel to Bulgaria on 11th October and then face Monenegro at home four days later.
However, Milan's medics do not expect Borriello to feature for his country due to a muscle problem.
The 26-year-old picked up the injury in the 2-1 victory over Reggina in midweek and may not return to action until Milan host Sampdoria on 19th October.
"It's a relatively small problem that will put him out for at least 10 days," said club doctor Massimo Manara.
"He'll probably come back after the international break."
Borriello, who made his international debut in February, has kept Andriy Shevchenko out of the Milan side this season.
