Lyon will be without defender Fabio Grosso for a month after he fractured his ribs on international duty.
The 30-year-old suffered the blow in the 18th minute of Italy's last-gasp 2-1 World Cup qualifying win over Cyprus on Saturday.
Grosso, who will now sit out Wednesday's clash with Georgia, could miss Lyon's next six matches due to his spell on the sidelines.
"It's not a very serious injury, but it is very painful for him each time he runs," Bernard Lacombe, advisor to Lyon's president, told the club's official website.
"We can't do a great deal to help him. We just have to give him time."
