Mohamed Sissoko is to undergo a scan on a muscular problem before linking up with Juventus for pre-season.
The former Liverpool midfielder picked up the injury a month ago whilst on international duty with Mali.
He has had physiotherapy for the last three weeks but still has not completely recovered from the strain.
Juventus are now anxious to discover the full extent of the problem as Claudio Ranieri looks to begin his preparations for the new Serie A campaign.
Sissoko will be hoping it is nothing serious so he can feature in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers in the middle of August.
