Lure of 2010 World Cup may persuade defender not to retire

Czech Republic defender Marek Jankulovski has admitted he may put plans to quit international football on hold. The Milan full-back had hinted that he could follow compatriot Jan Koller's decision to retire from the Czech international fold after Euro 2008. But fresh from Czech Republic's exit from the tournament at the group stages, Jankulovski, 31, has conceded that he is tempted to stay on with the squad through to the 2010 World Cup.

Emotions

"It is not the right time now [to make an announcement on my future]," he told Pravo. "I am still full of emotions after our elimination and I would not like to say anything in such a shape. "The tournament is over for us, we imagined it differently. I will go on holiday, will cast football out of my mind and will decide my future. "I am disappointed but the desire of playing for my country is still in me. The 2010 World Cup is a big lure."
