Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has committed his future to the Viola by turning down the chance to join German giants Bayern Munich.
The France international also attracted interest from Milan after helping Fiorentina pip Milan to a place in next season's UEFA Champions League.
But the 28-year-old former Internazionale and Parma keeper wants to stay in Italy as the Viola prepare to take on Europe's elite next season.
"I am staying in Florence," he said from France's Euro 2008 base.
"We have had to work hard to earn our place in the Champions League preliminary round and now I want to continue this adventure. It will be a great challenge.
"There was some contact with Bayern but I still have three years left on my contract and Fiorentina put a fairly high price-tag on me.
"I am happy in Florence, I'm very motivated and I'm happy to play at a club that is working towards next season with great ambition."
Fiorentina finished two points ahead of Milan in fourth place of Serie A last season and also reached the semi-finals of the Uefa Cup.
