Gianluigi Buffon has urged Italy coach Roberto Donadoni to recall Alessandro Del Piero for the European Championship.
Juventus goalkeeper Buffon witnessed his team-mate Del Piero score a hat-trick in Sunday's 4-0 demolition of Atalanta.
That took the veteran striker's tally for the season to 17 - the second-best total of his career.
After the game, Buffon added to the clamour for Del Piero to be brought back into the national squad for the tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
"A Del Piero like the one we have seen recently deserves to be called up for the European Championship without a shadow of a doubt," Buffon told Rai.
"It's also true to say that Donadoni has not completely closed the door on him. He's always said the door is open to everyone.
"No-one knows better than Donadoni how to do what is right."
