Torino defender Gianluca Comotto has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Torino defender Gianluca Comotto has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining a knee ligament injury.
The 29-year-old was forced out of Torino's Serie A meeting with Udinese on 19th March after sustaining the problem in the opening minutes of the match.
Comotto will now require an operation on his knee and is set to go under the knife in the next few days.
The news comes as a major blow to manager Walter Novellino as Comotto has been a star performer for Torino this term.
Comotto first joined Torino in 1997, but he joined Roma in 2005 in the wake of the Turin-based club's financial difficulties.
However, Comotto rejoined Torino in 2007 in a deal worth 1.5 million euros (£1.1m).
