Julio Cruz is not planning to leave Internazionale this summer and would like to end his career at the club.
The Argentine striker made only 15 appearances for Inter in Serie A last season and competition for places is likely to be even more fierce this term.
David Suazo has been added to the Inter squad this summer and will vie for a starting spot along with Adriano, Hernan Crespo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
There has been speculation that Cruz could be allowed to leave but he insists he would rather stay and fight for a place.
"I have never said that I wanted to leave Inter and I haven't had any problem with (coach Roberto) Mancini or any other person at the club," he told TyCSports.
"Everyday my name appears in the newspapers but this is not good because I have created problems.
"Although there are many strikers at Inter I belong to this team and I want to keep on being a player of Inter.
"In addition, my idea is to renew my contract. I have already spoken about that with the president and we will arrange everything shortly.
"I want to finish my career at Inter."
