Real Sociedad have pepped up their squad ahead of the new season with the capture of Gerardo Garcia.
The defensive midfielder has arrived at the Anoeta on a free transfer, having seen his contract with relegated Malaga expire this summer.
Sociedad are eager to avoid a repeat of last season's disappointing showing, as the team narrowly avoided relegation, and have snapped up Garcia on a two-year deal, with an option in place to extend by a further 12 months.
The Seville-born 31-year-old came through the youth system at Real Madrid, but had been on Malaga's books for the last five seasons.
He made 30 appearances last term, scoring twice, but he could not prevent the club from slipping out of La Primera and has now opted for a new challenge.
