Besikas have set their sights on Real Sociedad star Darko Kovacevic after the departure of John Carew to Lyon.
During the unveiling of new signings Ali Tandogan, Kursat Durmus, Guven Kocabal, Adem Dursun and Volkan Unlu, vice-president Kivanc Oktay said: "It is true that we're interested in Darko Kovacevic.
"We're making efforts to transfer him.
"We didn't sell Carew for the money. He told us he had family issues and that he must move. We had a clear price in our heads and weren't willing to sell him for below that."
Oktay added that Carew's replacement may not cost as much and may even be a free transfer.
"Riza Calimbay has asked for a midfielder and a forward from overseas," he stated. "We've completed domestic signings and are now looking abroad."
