Argentine defender Matias Lequi is hopeful that a permanent deal will be sorted out to allow him to stay at Celta Vigo.
The 25-year-old is currently on loan at the Spanish outfit from Lazio, but has become an integral first-team member at the Balaidos.
He has been a regular at the heart of Celta's defence and played his part as the team clinched European football next term.
Celta originally had until April 30 to sign him on a permanent basis, but Lazio have now extended that deadline to enable a deal to go through.
Talks are still ongoing and agreement has yet to be reached, but Lequi is confident a deal will soon be concluded.
"Both parties are continuing to negotiate, but things are looking pretty good for reaching a definitive agreement.
"This is business and everyone is looking to protect their interests, but I want to continue at Celta and Celta want me."
A number of clubs, including Olympiakos, are monitoring the negotiations should a deal fail to materialise.
