Celta Vigo goalkeeper Pablo Cavallero has undergone surgery on the fractured nose he sustained in Tuesday's UEFA Champions League game with Arsenal.

The Argentine custodian picked up the injury after a clash with Edu in the run-up to The Gunners' first goal, and will now miss this weekend's league clash with Real Madrid.

The 29-year-old custodian will also sit out the return leg with Arsenal at Highbury, and will have to wear a protective mask when he begins his recuperation.

Cavallero's is not the only injury problem that Celta are sweating on, however, with his compatriots Sebastian Mendez and Gustavo Lopez also some way off a return to full fitness.

Savo Milosevic is also a doubt for the Real clash with a muscular pull sustained against Arsenal which gives an added headache to boss Raddy Antic who is already without the services of Jesuli, Juanfran, Giovanella and Sergio for Sunday's game.
