Athletic Bilbao midfielder Tiko is confident he will be able to play before the end of the season.
Tiko has been out of action since October after suffering serious knee ligament damage, but his recovery has gone well.
"It is possible I will help the team to avoid relegation," he said.
"During the last month I have done a lot of physical work and touched the ball to test the knee.
"At the moment I am having positive vibes.
"Now it is necessary to reach the speed and rhythm of competition."
Tiko is refusing to put an exact date on his return, saying: "The time will depend of the knee."
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old is looking forward to a better 2007 after a nightmare last year because of injuries.
He added: "The year 2006 was very bad for me because I have suffered the surgery on the ankle and the knee.
"I hope for a more positive 2007 without any physical problems."
