Sporting Braga look set to be frustrated in their pursuit of Real Betis striker Joao Tomas.

The hit-man has just spent the season on loan at Braga after being informed he did not feature in Betis' first-team plans.

He enjoyed a productive campaign back in his native Portugal and notched an impressive 15 goals for Braga.

Unsurprisingly the SuperLiga outfit are keen to try and seal a permanent deal for the 29-year-old who still has a further 12 months left on his Betis contract.

However, Los Verdiblancos do not want to sell as they plan to try and use him as a makeweight in a deal to land Malaga midfielder Miguel Angel.

It is understood they have offered ‚é¼1.5 million plus a choice of either Tomas, Ito or Tote.

If Malaga consent to a deal involving either of the other two players then Braga look certain to rekindle their efforts to buy Tomas.
