Real Betis striker Alfonso has received a lucrative offer to move to Qatar.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has not yet been offered a new deal by Betis.

The former Spain international has struggled with injury and form over the past couple of seasons and has made only seven appearances for Los Verdiblancos this term.

AS claims that Qatari sides Al Rayyan and Al Ahly are ready to offer the striker the opportunity to move on.

Fernando Hierro and Josep Guardiola have both enjoyed spells in Qatar in recent times, and Alfonso could now be the next Spaniard to wind down his career in the Middle East.

The player himself has refused to speak about the link, stating: "My objective is to play until the end of this season and help Betis as much as I can in the league and Copa del Rey."
