DUO FACE NIGHTCLUB CHARGES

THE DISGRACED Osasuna duo of Alex and Alfredo, who were arrested in Mallorca on Monday morning, were brought before a judge to answer to charges.

After the disruptions caused by the players last weekend, they appeared in court to answer charges of fighting and being drunk and disorderly.

The police report claimed that both players were arrested at 4.00 am on Monday morning outside a nightclub and stated that both players threatened the arresting officers.

They told police that they had many friends in the terrorist group Herri Batasuna (HB) and at one point Alex (pictured) threatened a police officer with his life, saying, "When I see you out of uniform, I am going to kill you."

The arresting officer also told how Alfredo started hitting the doors and windows of the police office.  He also lashed out at a policeman, and one officer had cuts on his arms after having a glass thrown at him.

The nightclub owner not only stuck to his story, but he was also able to produce video evidence of the whole incident, clearly showing the actions of the Osasuna pair.

Club officials would not comment on the player's actions, but Osasuna coach Miguel Ángel Lotina has said that at this moment their only punishment will be a hefty fine for being out, when they should have been in their hotel room.

The club will not take any other action against the players until club president Javier Miranda returns from a scouting trip in Argentina.
