Belgium international Marvin Ogunjimi has signed for Standard Liege on a season-long loan following an unhappy six month spell with Real Mallorca.
The 24-year-old was originally set to join Mallorca last summer but the paperwork was not registered in time, meaning the deal could not go through until January.
However, the move soon went sour with a combination of injuries and a frosty relationship with boss Joaquin Caparros restricting him to just eight appearances.
He has now returned to his homeland on a season-long loan, though Liege have the option to make the deal permanent next summer.
Speaking at a press conference, Ogunjimi revealed that his meeting with new Liege coach Ron Jans was critical to his decision to join the club following his unhappy time in Spain.
"It was important to know who would become the coach here. The meeting with Ron Jans was crucial," he said.

"At Mallorca I had to fight against a wall, and it's difficult to end it as a winner.
"I had other options as well, but Standard was the best choice for me.
"We won't play in Europe but for just one season that won't be a catastrophe. I hope I can teach the younger players something, even though I am only 24 myself.
"And of course I want to score goals."
