Striker Bernardo Romeo is confident Mallorca will beat the drop from La Primera.

The Argentine hit-man joined The Islanders from Hamburg during the January transfer window, and made his first telling contribution for the club by scoring twice in last weekend's 3-2 home win over Real Sociedad.

Despite the victory, Mallorca still lie some four points from safety, but Romeo believes the club has enough talent and desire to avoid relegation.

"I think that we can keep Mallorca in the Primera Division," he stated.

"I hope that this victory makes us know that there are still many games to be played and that we have to fight until the end.

"We still have a lot to do and we have to face 11 finals in the next few weeks.

"The victory against Real Sociedad is a little step so we will not know until the end of the season if we have done our work correctly or not.

"I have come to Mallorca with a big expectation and want to work hard for this team so I expect to have the chance to help keep this team in the Primera Division."
