Gonzalo Rodriguez hopes that Villarreal can gain revenge over Arsenal when the two teams meet in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
The defender was part of the side who lost to the Gunners in the competition's semi-finals in 2006 and he wants to settle the score this season.
Arsenal went on to lose to Barcelona in the final, but Villarreal still hurt after coming so close to what would have been the biggest moment in the club's history.
"Without doubt, all of us that played in that team believe that this is a chance for revenge," Gonzalo said in Marca.
Gonzalo has just recovered from a muscle injury and is relishing the prospect of returning to help fourth-placed Villarreal in the Primera Liga and in Europe.
"I feel great and I really want to play. I have been recuperating for a six weeks and I do not feel any problems now," he continued.
"It was only a muscular injury and the recovery was easier than with previous injuries, so I should have no problem playing again when the coach calls upon me.
"We are in a great position in the league and in the Champions League, so we will have to be at our best in both competitions now."
