Chilean international Matias Fernandez says he could not be more pleased about signing for Villarreal.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who still plays domestically for Colo Colo, has attracted significant interest from Chelsea in the past.
But Fernandez has signed a contract at El Madrigal starting from January and is ecstatic to be moving to Spain, although he remains focussed on life in Chile at the moment.
"My dream of playing in Spain has come true," Fernandez enthused.
"My transfer to Villarreal has been concluded, so I will be playing in Spain from January and that's something that I always wanted to do.
"Now I have to keep my concentration on Colo Colo because I would like to win the Torneo Clausura.
"I am also thinking about the match against Gimnasia La Plata in the Copa Sudamericana competition. I think we have a big chance to win things."
