Osasuna have unveiled their latest summer signing in the shape of former Villarreal midfielder Hector Font.
After capturing Iranian World Cup midfielder Javad Nekounam, the surprise UEFA Champions League qualifiers have now confirmed the arrival of Font on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old progressed through the youth ranks with the Yellow Submarines but after falling out of favour with boss Manuel Pellegrini he was allowed to find a new club.
Font originally seemed set for Catalan side Espanyol but has now penned a three-year deal with Osasuna, with his buyout clause set at é¼10 million (£6.9 million).
Villarreal will be entitled to 50 percent of any subsequent sale, and the versatile midfielder will be focused on carving out a successful career at Estadio El Sadar.
The young Spaniard played one game in Villarreal's run to the UEFA Champions League semi-final last season, and could feature in the third qualifying round this time around as Osasuna look to impress on the European stage.
