Villarreal defender Javi Venta has ended speculation about his future by signing a new three-year contract with the club.
The 29-year-old is now tied to The Yellow Submarines until the end of the 2008 season.
The Castellon-based club had been in talks with the full back for several weeks, and the failure to strike a deal had precipitated rumours of a possible move.
However, Venta has now committed himself to Villarreal, and looks likely to end his career at the club he joined from Tenerife in 2002.
He becomes the second Villarreal player to sign a contract extension in recent times, with Josico signing a two-year deal on Wednesday.
