VILLAREAL have confirmed that they have signed Spanish striker Antonio Guayre from La Liga rivals Las Palmas.

The 20-year-old has signed a five-year deal with Victor Munoz's side, but the fee between the clubs still has to be agreed on.

Guayre's buyout clause with the Islanders is 1000 million pesetas (£3.5 million), and this should not represent a problem for the clubs.

Munoz was impressed with the youngster's performance last season and is looking forward to him linking up with Martin Palermo and Victor Fernandez.

Guayre played in the Primera Liga for the first time last term and his performances earned him a place in the Spanish Under-21 squad.

Villareal are so impressed with him that director Jose Manuel Llaneza has placed a 5000 million pesetas get-out clause on his new signing.
