Spanish defender says Villarreal are hit by injury problems

Villarreal defender Carlos Marchena admits his side are not in the best shape to face Manchester City. The Yellow Submarine take on City at the Etihad Stadium in the UEFA Champions League having lost both their group matches so far. Marchena says the squad has been hit by a number of injuries but they are determined to get a result on Tuesday night. "It is incredible the bad series of injuries that we are suffering," he told skysports.com. "Those break the rhythm to any team. For me they are the main reason for our bad start to the season.
"The match against Manchester City arrives in the worst moment for us but in
England it is a final for us and we must not fail." On the quality of City, who are currently top of the Premier League, he added: "For me it is one of the best squads today in the European football. "City's quality level is enormous. For me David Silva is the key man for us to stop. "It is normal that the people say City are favourites but Villarreal go with maximum morale. "This team always offers the best in difficult moments. "I want to win in Manchester but also one point could be positive in this moment. "If Kun Aguero does not play it is less of a problem for us but City posses big stars in attack and are still terrific without the Argentine ace"
