Argentine defender Fabricio Coloccini is set for crunch talks with Deportivo La Coruna officials as he fears his World Cup dreams could be dashed.

New coach Joaquin Caparros has overlooked the bushy-haired centre half since taking the reins in La Coruna, much to Coloccini's chagrin.

Coloccini is desperate to secure a berth in Jose Pekerman's Argentina squad in Germany next summer, but fears a lack of minutes could scupper his hopes.

"I need minutes on the field because my desire is to play for Argentina at the World Cup in Germany," said Coloccini.

Reports suggest Coloccini will meet with the Depor top brass and will ask for a loan move in January if he fails to get assurances over his place at The Riazor.
