Deportivo La Coruna winger Lionel Scaloni has revealed he intends to play his football in Argentina when his contract expires.

The 27-year-old Argentinian, who has spent seven seasons in La Liga after moving to Spain 1999, is contracted to Depor until the summer of 2007.

Scaloni has enjoyed his time in European football but wants to play in the Copa Libertadores with Estudiantes de La Plata before he is past his best.

"I am still under contract for a year and a half. After that I will move to Argentina," explained Scaloni.

"Once my contract expires I'm clear in my mind that I want to return to Argentina to play my football there.

"I want to end my career in good shape. I don't want to steal anyone's money like is usually done when a player returns from Europe to Argentina.

"I would love to play in the Copa Libertadores at Estudiantes de La Plata because they have been going 30 years without playing in it."
