Scaloni eyeing Depor exit

Lionel Scaloni admits his future appears to lie away from Deportivo La Coruna.

Deportivo La Coruna's Lionel Scaloni admits his future appears to lie away from the Galician club.

The Argentine, who is club captain at Depor, is finding it impossible to command a place in Joaquin Caparros' first team at present and is now considering his future.

The 27-year-old, who can operate in defence and midfield, has just this season left on his contract at the Riazor and is desperate to play regularly to bolster his World Cup ambitions.

"I need to play, my situation is difficult, " he told Marca.

"If I do leave Depor it will be for sporting reasons, not for money. My sporting situation is more important than anything else.

"I am not playing, but we will see what happens. First I have to see how my situation pans out as there are still two months until December.

"But I am not thinking about signing another contract if I am not playing - when my situation is decided we will talk.

"The press aren't stupid and know that I don't have long left on my contract and that things will come to a head soon, but it's what the president and coach say that matters. "
