DEPORTIVO LA CORUNA ace Jorge Andrade has expressed sadness after tests revealed he will miss at least two months with a broken foot.

The Portuguese defender only arrived in the summer from Porto, and was looking to make a positive impression on coach Javier Irureta, but will now have to wait until at least November to prove his worth to the team.

Andrade picked up the left-foot fracture during his Liga debut against Real Betis, and will miss Portugal`s visit to England on Saturday.

At the time he felt he had done little damage to his foot, with the true extent of the problem not emerging until the morning after the game.

Speaking to planetfootball.com, he said: "I did not think it was anything serious.

"It was not until the morning that it got bad.

"This injury has arrived at the worst possible moment.

"It is the beginning of the season, a time when I want to demonstrate my talents to the coach.

"I will also miss out on the start of the Champions League, but I can console myself with the fact that I will return in better physical shape than before."

The loss of Andrade prompted Irureta to make a swoop on the transfer market, with defender Pablo Amo being brought in from Sporting Gijon.
