Espanyol have completed their third signing of the summer after Wakaso Mubarak agreed to join the club from Villarreal. The 21-year-old midfielder chose to leave El Madrigal after the Yellow Submarine were relegated in May in order to stay in the Spanish top flight. Mubarak put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal at the Catalan club after passing a medical on Wednesday at the Clinica Creu Blanca in Barcelona. After arriving in Europe aged 18, the Ghanaian played for Elche for three seasons before moving to Villarreal B and he was quickly rewarded with his first-team debut in February 2011. Wakaso has been signed to bolster coach Mauricio Pochettino's midfield options as he can play in the centre and on the left wing. Espanyol have also signed Diego Colotto from Deportivo de la Coruna, Sergio Tejera back from Mallorca and Wakaso is the club's third new face as they prepare for the new campaign.
