Espanyol will not be pressured into breaking their wage structure to keep young stars Alvaro Vazquez and Javi Marquez..
The Barcelona-based side are unhappy the young duo are rumoured to be being watched by other teams and are determined to take their time and make the right deal for the Catalan outfit.
Alvaro has been linked with a switch to Sevilla as part of a deal that could make Romaric's loan move to Espanyol permanent, but club delegate Joan Collet believes the stories could be down to player agents.
After rising through the ranks at Espanyol and breaking into the first team last year, Alvaro has become a regular in Mauricio Pochettino's side and the club want to keep him.
The Spain Under-21 star's current deal runs out in 2013 and early talks have already begun about a new deal.
Objective
"We have laid out our objective and our list and we are not going to change that for anyone," commented Collet.
"On the sporting front we are not going to over-stretch ourselves because the whole club would suffer. We cannot commit to things that we could not then assume later on.
"We will not buckle due to outside pressure. The agents have their jobs to do and we have ours.
"We have to find a balance and I do not know if they think that if they speak to the press then we will change our policies."
Carlos Kameni has been rumoured to be leaving the club in January with Malaga and Olympiacos ready to pounce for the out-of-favour goalkeeper.
"There is currently no offer for Kameni," Collet added. "The only one that came was from Roma during last summer, but that was not official."
