Turkish giants Besiktas have swooped to sign Spain international defender Juanfran from Celta Vigo.

The Istanbul-based outfit, who are managed by former Real Madrid coach Vicente Del Bosque, have paid around ‚é¼3.5 million to secure the 28-year-old's services.

The player has inked a three-year contract and moves on after five years at Celta - who were relegated from the Spanish top-flight last term.

Juanfran admitted he was delighted at the opportunity to link up with fellow Spaniard Del Bosque.

"I thank the Besiktas directors and coach Del Bosque for insisting that I join. I am prepared to do anything for Besiktas and Del Bosque," he stated.

Besiktas have also agreed a deal to sign Turkish international Tayfun Korkut from Espanyol.

Tayfun, who only moved to the Catalan outfit last summer, has signed a two-year deal after being informed he did not feature in Miguel Angel Lotina's first-team plans.
