ESPANYOL defender Alberto Lopo faces three weeks on the sidelines with a leg injury.

Lopo picked up the knock in last weekend's clash with Valladolid, but played through the pain barrier before being sent off.

Tests have shown that the 23-year-old has damaged the leg and that he will be out for a minimum of three weeks.

The news is a blow for Espanyol boss Javier Clemente as Lopo has started the season well for the Catalan-based side and leaves him with a selection problem with Antonio Soldevilla missing through injury.
