ESPANYOL are set to complete the signing of Argentine midfielder Pablo Guinazu before the end of the week.

The Spanish side are close to agreeing a season-long loan deal for the Independiente ace with the option of a permanent move at the end of the deal.

Guinazu will fill the void left by the departure of Roger on the left side of midfield for Espanyol.

Espanyol technical manager Sergio Morgado insists a deal is in the offing.

"The negotiations with Guinazu are continuing and we expect there will be no problems," said Morgado.

Espanyol will now turn their attentions to securing the futures of captain Raul Tamudo and Cyril Domoraud.

The Catalan outfit are hoping to agree a new loan deal with Milan for Domoraud and are trying to extend Tamudo's deal until 2007.
